Rentals are expected to be back with the Lender or the HURR wardrobe the day after your last rental day. On the last day of your rental, the item/s need to be shipped
If the rental is not back the day after your rental ends, late fees begin applying from this date.
🤝 For Peer-to-Peer Rentals
📮 Please ship your item using a next day, fully tracked and signed for service. We recommend Royal Mail's Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm service, which offers all this, plus insurance, for roughly £8.
💬 If you anticipate being late, use the "Message Lender" option in your account to inform your Lender. In HURR's experience, Lenders prefer to hear bad news, than no news!
💸 Lenders can request a late fee if the rental is not returned on time. Lender's can do this directly from the rental details page and you will be notified by email. We require that Renters are informed of an incoming late fee request, including the reason and the amount. If a fee is not agreed or acknowledged after 4 days, HURR will be able to step in support or mediate.
🧮 Late fee amounts are at the discretion of the Lender. While we understand the importance of timely returns due to the knock on effects that delays can have, we encourage not to attempt charges that are disproportionate to the delay or circumstance.
In the example below, the item's day rate is £6.50. If the item is 2 days late, I could apply this logic and charge a £13 late fee.
If the item was 7 days late, I would consider my 8 day fee for guidance. I could opt to charge this amount or alternatively, I could divide my 8 day fee (£40.84) by 8 and then multiply it by 7 to cover the 7 days.
☝️ Late returns can negatively impact the member of the Renting community who has rented your item in the dates following you. Many Lenders are handling multiple rentals per week and a late item can impact their scheduling or even their costs if they need to express an item through laundry to be ready for the next Renter. For reasons like these we support Lenders who want to enforce a fee.
We ask Lenders to remain fair in their considerations, remembering that a lack of flexibility for special circumstances and attempts to overcharge can put Renters of the rental concept, which impacts the wider Lending community.

📮 Please ship your item using the pre-paid return label in your parcel. Simply drop it at the Post Office and it will return to us form there. If you've lost your label, you can ask us for another using the help icon at the bottom, right of this page.

💸 Delayed items will be subject to a late fee relevant to the item's rental rates.
